I really like and recommend this map. Although the layout seems a little cluttered, I have found this map to be invaluable because of the amount of information provided in English on the map surface itself. What I mean is, when there is a tourist
site or point of interest, the place is marked with a symbol and explained in English right on the map face.
On the Thailand Highway Department Map, when there is a waterfall or elephant camp, the map specifies the name of the waterfall or elephant camp in English and also in Thai but using English characters for the Thai words. An icon also marks the location.
Most of the other maps on the market today notate points of interest with icons, but the notation is in the Thai language using English characters. Unless you know Thai Language, the notation is fairly meaningless.
I recommend the Thailand Highway Map or Highway Department Club map be used in conjunction with other Thailand maps despite the fact that this map should suffice as a general travel map for the country of Thailand and suit most of your needs.
If you cannot find this map online, you can purchase this book at Asia Books which has locations all over Bangkok and at Asia Books at the Landmark Hotel
